The Pilgrim Tour of Italy and Greece.
The Human race has survived for thousands of years. Many civilizations have risen and fallen, each leaving behind their own relics and ruins.
Arguably the most beautiful and iconic of these lie in Rome and Greece, where we have thrived for ages. These two areas of Mediterranean Europe are rich in history, culture, and natural beauty and a great destination for our pilgrim tours of Italy & Greece.
Our newest religious tour option will whisk you through the highlights of these two unforgettable travel destinations.
We start with four days in Rome, taking in sights such as the Trevi Fountain and the Sistine Chapel. Following this, we travel to Athens, where we begin a cruise, exploring some beautiful Greek islands. Mykonos, Rhodes, and Santorini are amongst our scenic stops. With our hearts enriched and our minds soothed, we return first to Athens and then back home.
We hope that you will join us on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Among pilgrim tours of Italy and Greece, the Modern Splendour of the Ancient World is a very special one. In fact the first portion of our trip is spent in and around Rome. Once the centre of the Roman Empire, this city is steeped in history. It was the forefront of art, culture, religion, science, and almost every other aspect of human existence for hundreds of years.
Consequently, there are beautiful historic sites that we will take in on our tour.
In Italy we will take you on guided tours of Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon. Since is it intended to a religious tour of Italy and Greece, for those interested in religious history and sightseeing, we will visit the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel (the site of Michelangelo’s famous ceiling painting) and St. Peter’s Basilica. All of these sights will be enjoyed in one day!
On the next day, we will marvel at the Coliseum and Fori Imperiali, then the Basilica of St. John in Lateran and continue along the ancient Appian Way, passing the Chapel of Domine Quo Vadis before arriving at the Catacombs, the ancient underground cemeteries and hiding places of the Christians.
On the second part of our tour, we will witness another of the great ancient civilizations and a place of incredible natural splendour: Greece.
Apart from Athens, another juggernaut of ancient history, we will revel in the beauty of the islands of Mykonos, Kusadasi, Rhodes, Heraklion, and Santorini. Each of these islands offers scenes and experiences unlike those that can be seen anywhere in the United States, from picturesque marinas to UNESCO World Heritage sites to an incomparable nightlife culture.
With this trip, we seek to show you only the best that Mediterranean Europe has to offer. We will take you on a remarkable cruise, filled with glimpses into humanity’s past, picturesque views, and experiences that cannot be had anywhere else.
You will remember this trip and share stories from it for the rest of your life. Come with us to the other side of the world. You will discover new things about your world, and you may even discover new things about yourself. We cannot wait to hear from you.
