Day 1: Athens
Yes! It is true! You are in Athens ready to live your myth in one of the most amazing countries on earth, Greece. Check in you in your hotel, located in the Plaka area, next to the Acropolis and feel free to spend your afternoon the way you like. Have a nice sleep during your first night in Athens.
Day 2: Athens- Cape Sounion
Start with a nutritious breakfast and then go on your sightseeing tour in Athens. During this guided tour you will have the chance to see most of the famous ancient ruins. You will first admire the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Acropolis Museum. You will also visit the Theater of Dionysus, the Theatre of Herodes Atticus and the Temple of Oympian Zeus.
Take pictures of the Agora where Socrates engaged the Athenians in philosophical conversation. The Temple of Hephaistos still stands here in all its glory. You can see the Areopagus from the Acropolis. It is here where the first Athenian law court was established and where Saint Paul preached in 54 A.D. He also received his first Athenian convert to Christianity on this rock.
Lunch in the Plaka area on your own, in a picturesque tavern. Try local dishes like pastistio, mousaka, lentles, gigantic beans and feta cheese. A yogurt with honey or quince will be the best desert.
In the afternoon, an idyllic trip to Cape Sounion will fill your soul with joy. The drive along the coast of Attica Riviera is a magnificent experience. The Temple of Poseidon, overlooking the Aegean Sea will be waiting for you in all its glory. Pretend that you are King Aegean, looking for the ship with his son to come back from Crete.
You will finally return to Athens where you will spend the night. (B)
Day 3: Athens-Delphi-Athens
In the morning you will start your full day trip to Delphi, where the oracle of Apollo, it is situated on the side of Mount Parnassus. You will visit the extensive site of the oracle, the theater, and the museum. Later on, you will enjoy your lunch in Delphi, the belly- button / center of earth, according to the ancient Greeks. You will return to Athens in the evening where you will spend your night. (B, L)
Day 4: Athens-Piraeus-Mykonos
After breakfast we will transfer you to Piraeus and you will embark the ferryboat for Mykonos. You will arrive in Mykonos after five hours. We will transfer you to Rhenia Bungalows, located next to the yacht harbor. Your day will be at leisure.
Explore this cosmopolitan place that combines jet-set lifestyle with simple yet charming life of a Cycladic island. Stroll through narrow streets and marvel the so many tiny chapels and whitewashed houses of Mykonos down-town.
Take amazing pictures of the windmills and the famous pelican, the mascot of Mykonos. Relax while gazing at the deep blue of the sea at a cosmopolitan bar in Little Venice. Enjoy the sunset and later on join the rich nightlife of Mykonos. Overnight.(B)
Day 5: Delos-Mykonos
In the morning you will go on a half day trip to visit Delos by a local excursion boat. You will be one of the few privileged people to step on the deserted island. Take unique pictures of the famous lion of Delos. Walk around the marvelous ruins of this island, once part of the Athenean Alliance.
You will return to Mykonos at lunch time to taste the local cuisine. You will be free in the afternoon to explore the rest of the island and to enjoy its night life. You will spend your second night in Mykonos, probably tired but undoubtedly satisfied. (B)
Day 6: Mykonos
Good morning Mykonos! Today your whole day is at leisure. Wear your best bathing suit, beach clothes, sandals and glasses and start shopping. The best international brands but also local products are waiting for you in small boutiques and stores in the capital of Mykonos.
Arrive at one of the trendy sandy beaches and enjoy your day gazing at the Aegean Sea. Once again, try endless dancing in world-renown clubs in the night. You will spend the rest of your last night in Mykonos. (B)
Day 7: Mykonos-Athens
Enjoy your last morning on the ‘island of the winds’ as the Greeks call Mykonos, the way you like. In the early afternoon, you will depart from Mykonos by ferryboat to Piraeus. You will arrive in Piraeus and we will transfer you to your hotel in Plaka. Relax during your last night in Athens. (B)
Day 8: Athens
After breakfast, be sure that you have collected all your belongings. Check out and end of services. Have a nice and safe flight back home. (B)
