Greek Cruises onboard a yacht – m/s Aegiotissa II 25 guests

A Private Yacht Journey Through the Ionian Islands

The Ionian is different in its own way. Green islands rise from clear blue water, small harbours appear between wooded hills, and each day brings another stretch of coastline to discover. Aboard a private crewed yacht, the journey between these places becomes as much a part of the experience as the islands themselves.

Aegeotissa II is particularly at home in these waters. Based in Corfu or Lefkada, the traditional wooden yacht offers private charters through the Ionian, where possible routes can bring together Corfu, Paxos and Antipaxos, Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaca, Kefalonia and other islands and coastal destinations.

There is time to enjoy the view from the deck, discover small island towns, step ashore for an evening and return to the yacht as the journey continues. Meanwhile, a private charter gives your group the freedom to shape the route around the places and experiences that interest you most.

The itinerary is never simply a chain of ports. It is a week of changing landscapes, island life and days spent travelling through one of Greece’s most beautiful cruising regions, with the Ionian Sea connecting every chapter.

Cruising Areas & Flexible Charter Planning

An Indicative Ionian Islands Yacht Charter

A private charter allows the route to be shaped around your group, travel dates and the conditions at sea. The itinerary below shows one way a week aboard Aegeotissa II could unfold through the Ionian Islands. The final route is agreed according to your preferences and remains subject to weather, sea conditions, port arrangements and the captain’s approval.

Day 1: Corfu

Come aboard in Corfu and settle into life on Aegeotissa II.

Unpack and take your first look across the Ionian from the deck that will become your travelling home for the days ahead. Corfu makes a fitting beginning, with its green landscape, distinctive architecture and long relationship with the sea.

Tonight, the journey is still waiting ahead of you.

Day 2: Corfu – Paxos

Leave Corfu behind and cruise south towards Paxos.

The scenery begins to change almost immediately. Green slopes meet clear water, rocky shores break into coves and the smaller scale of Paxos gives the Ionian a quieter character.

Later, step ashore and enjoy the atmosphere of this small island at your own pace. Tomorrow, another coastline waits beyond the horizon.

Day 3: Paxos – Kefalonia

Today the yacht continues south through the Ionian towards Kefalonia.

The largest of the Ionian Islands brings a different sense of scale, with mountains rising behind a deeply indented coastline and harbour villages tucked along the shore. As the island comes into view, the journey begins to feel very different from the small world of Paxos.

Enjoy the afternoon and evening as the next chapter of your Ionian cruise unfolds.

Day 4: Kefalonia – Zakynthos

Continue south towards Zakynthos.

From the deck, one island gradually gives way to another. Zakynthos brings its own combination of dramatic coastline, bright water and green interior, adding another character to the journey through western Greece.

There is time to enjoy the island before returning to the yacht and the familiar pleasure of an evening beside the water.

Day 5: Zakynthos – Ithaca

Today, turn north again and cruise towards Ithaca, an island whose name has travelled through literature for almost three thousand years.

Associated forever with Odysseus and the idea of the journey home, Ithaca feels especially appropriate on a voyage through the Greek islands. Yet there is no need to search for Homer in every bay. Wander through a harbour town, enjoy the surrounding landscape and let the island tell its own modern story.

Overnight in Ithaca.

Day 6: Ithaca – Lefkada

Leave Ithaca and continue through the central Ionian towards Lefkada.

Along the way, islands and smaller islets appear across the water, including the world around Meganisi and the archipelago east of Lefkada. This is a part of Greece that seems naturally suited to exploration from the sea, with land never far away and another bay or island often appearing beyond the next headland.

Later, arrive in Lefkada and enjoy your final Ionian evening.

Day 7: Lefkada & the Nearby Ionian Islands

There is still time for the Ionian.

Depending on your final charter plan, the day can remain around Lefkada and the nearby islands, where Meganisi, small islets and sheltered stretches of coast create plenty of possibilities for a final day on the water.

Rather than rushing towards one more distant destination, enjoy the pleasure of being aboard: the sea around you, land never far away and nowhere that needs to be ticked off a list.

Tonight is your final night aboard.

Day 8: Lefkada – Disembarkation

Wake to your final morning aboard Aegeotissa II.

After breakfast, it is time to disembark in Lefkada and say goodbye to the yacht and crew.

The cruise may be over, but the Ionian tends to leave behind a collection of places rather than a single memory: a harbour at dusk, green hills above the water, an island seen first from the deck and the simple pleasure of waking each morning somewhere new.
