Day 1: Athens

Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, your driver will greet you and transfer you comfortably to your hotel.

Once you have settled in, enjoy your first stroll through Athens‘ old town, with its narrow streets and traditional character.

Day 2: Athens Sightseeing

After breakfast, join the included Athens city sightseeing tour by shared coach with a licensed English-speaking guide. Highlights include the Acropolis and Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, the Panathenaic Stadium, Parliament and more.

Later, wander through the charming streets of Plaka and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the city centre at your own pace.

Day 3: Athens and Cape Sounion

Today, explore Athens at your own pace. You might visit museums and delve further into Greece’s history, sample local flavours on a food tour, relax in the National Garden, or take in the views from Lycabettus Hill.

Early in the afternoon, join the included Cape Sounion Tour. Travel along the Athens Riviera by shared coach with a licensed English-speaking guide, then visit the Temple of Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea.

Day 4: Epidaurus, Mycenae and Olympia

This morning, begin your four-day tour through the classical sites of Greece, from sanctuaries of the ancient gods to the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Along the way, history and mythology unfold across remarkable landscapes and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

First, visit Epidaurus, renowned for its remarkably preserved theatre and acoustics. The sanctuary was an important healing centre dedicated to Asclepius, the god of medicine.

Next, continue to Mycenae, the Homeric stronghold associated with King Agamemnon, with its massive Cyclopean walls, Lion Gate and Royal Tombs. Finally, proceed to Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games and a sanctuary dedicated to Zeus.

Day 5: Olympia and Delphi

This morning, explore the Ancient Stadium, temples and museum at Olympia. Afterward, continue to Delphi, travelling via the Rion-Antirion Bridge and Nafpaktos.

Set on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Delphi was home to the famous Oracle of Apollo and remains one of the great landmarks of Classical Greece.

Day 6: Delphi and Meteora

After breakfast, visit the archaeological site and museum of Delphi, where the Charioteer of Delphi is among the highlights.

At the end of the guided tour, continue to Kalambaka and Meteora, a remarkable landscape where centuries-old monasteries stand on towering rock pillars. In Greek, Meteora means ‘suspended in air’.

Day 7: Meteora and Athens

This morning, visit the monasteries of Meteora. Afterward, begin the journey back to Athens, arriving late in the afternoon.

Day 8: Athens to Rhodes

You will be transferred to Athens Airport for your flight to Rhodes. After several days among some of the most important temples and archaeological sites of Classical Greece, the journey now turns to a different chapter of history: the medieval castles and fortifications of Rhodes.

Here, the legacy of the Knights and centuries-old stone walls overlooking the Aegean introduce another side of Greece’s past.

Day 9: Medieval Town of Rhodes

After breakfast, set out to explore the Medieval Town of Rhodes, with its old streets and layers of history. In 1988, UNESCO inscribed the Medieval City of Rhodes on the World Heritage List.

As you wander, you can also visit churches within the medieval city, including the Holy Trinity, St Panteleimon and the Church of the Virgin Mary of the Castle.

Day 10: Palace of the Grand Master and Archaeological Museum

Today, continue exploring the Old City and visit the Palace of the Grand Master of the Order, the famous ‘Castello’, one of the great monuments of the Middle Ages. Today, the Castello houses the Museum of Rhodes, where visitors can admire the palace itself as well as collections of paintings, sculpture and mosaics, including the mosaic of Medusa.

The former Knights’ Hospital now houses the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes.

Later, conclude your walk through the city and choose a restaurant for dinner.

Day 11: Lindos and the Rhodes Coast

Today, you may wish to explore Rhodes beyond the city walls. You can rent a car, as public transportation is limited during winter, or take a taxi to Lindos, renowned for its picturesque setting and Acropolis. The views from the village are memorable.

On the way back in the afternoon, you can also take a walk by the sea along one of the beaches near Rhodes Town.

Day 12: Ancient Kameiros and Kallithea Springs

Today, you may wish to visit Ancient Kameiros and Kallithea Springs, around 9 km from Rhodes Town.

Day 13: Rhodes at Leisure

Enjoy your final day on Rhodes at your own pace. You can relax, take a cooking lesson, try a wine or olive tasting, or join a guided tour of the medieval town.

Day 14: Rhodes to Athens

Bid farewell to Rhodes and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Athens. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for your final night in Greece.

Later, enjoy a relaxed walk through lively Plaka and perhaps choose a restaurant where you can dine with a view of the illuminated Acropolis.
