The 8-Day Athens and TInos Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Athens

Welcome to Athens. Transfer from Athens International Airport to your hotel. After arriving and settling into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Take your first walk through the historic centre, explore the streets of Plaka or simply relax and settle into the rhythm of the city. Athens will provide the historical starting point for the journey before you later exchange the capital for the landscapes and villages of the Cyclades. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2: Athens – Cape Sounion

After breakfast, begin your guided walking sightseeing tour of Athens. Explore the Acropolis and its great monuments, including the Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike and Erechtheion, before visiting the Acropolis Museum.

Your exploration also introduces you to some of the other landmarks of ancient Athens, while afterward there is time for lunch and a break in the Plaka area.

In the afternoon, leave the city for the included excursion to Cape Sounion. The route follows the Athens Riviera before reaching the Temple of Poseidon, dramatically positioned above the Aegean Sea. Later, return to Athens for your overnight. (Β)

Day 3: Athens – Delphi – Athens

This morning, set out on the included full-day excursion to Delphi, one of the most significant religious centres of the ancient Greek world.

Set against the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Delphi was associated with Apollo and the famous Oracle. During your visit, explore the archaeological site and museum and discover a place where religion, mythology and political life came together in antiquity.

Lunch is included in Delphi. Afterward, begin the journey back to Athens, arriving in the evening. Overnight in Athens. (Β)

Day 4: Athens – Tinos

After breakfast, leave Athens behind and travel to the port for your ferry to Tinos.

The crossing introduces a different chapter of the journey as the city gives way to the Aegean and the Cyclades. On arrival in Tinos, transfer to your hotel and settle in.

The remainder of the day is at leisure. Take your first walk through Tinos Town, find a café or taverna, or simply enjoy the slower pace of your first evening on the island. Overnight in Tinos. (Β)

Day 5: Tinos – Villages, Marble & Island Traditions

Today, discover the Tinos that lies beyond its port and coastline, by private taxi.

Travel into the island’s interior, where traditional villages, terraced hillsides, stone walls and ornate dovecotes form a landscape shaped over generations. Among the most distinctive places is Volax, surrounded by an unusual landscape of rounded granite boulders.

Continue toward Pyrgos, where marble appears not simply as a building material but as part of the character of the village itself. Tinos has a remarkable tradition of marble craftsmanship, and Pyrgos remains closely connected with generations of sculptors and craftspeople.

A visit to the Museum of Marble Crafts provides a deeper look at the tools, techniques and social history behind this tradition. Afterward, take time to enjoy Pyrgos itself before continuing your exploration of the island.

Later, return to your hotel. Overnight in Tinos. (Β)

Day 6: Tinos at Your Own Pace

Today is yours to experience Tinos in the way that appeals to you most.

You might spend time by the sea, return to a village that caught your attention, explore more of Tinos Town or enjoy the island’s food at an unhurried pace. Alternatively, walkers can discover part of the extensive network of old paths that connects villages, valleys, dovecotes and stretches of coastline.

Tinos rewards curiosity, but there is no need to fill every hour. Sometimes the pleasure of an island comes from having enough time to stop rather than simply moving on to the next sight. Overnight in Tinos. (Β)

Day 7: Tinos – Athens

Enjoy your final morning on Tinos at leisure before leaving the island.

Later, transfer to the port and board the ferry back to Athens. On arrival, continue to your hotel for your final overnight in the capital.

The evening is yours. You may wish to return to Plaka, enjoy dinner in the historic centre or simply relax after your journey from the Cyclades. Overnight in Athens. (Β)

Day 8: Athens – Departure

After breakfast, your Athens and Tinos journey comes to an end.

Take with you two very different impressions of Greece: the monuments and mythology of Classical Greece, and the villages, craftsmanship and everyday landscapes of a Cycladic island with a character very much its own. Transfer to the Athens International Airport.
